Description
Brainiac Battle Quiz Competition is an intellectually stimulating and competitive event designed to challenge the knowledge, critical thinking skills, and quick wit of students. This Mekathlon science quiz competition serves as a platform for students to showcase their expertise in Science subjects and engage in a friendly yet intense battle of wits.

- No. of Days: Days 1 and 2
- Team size: 2 students in one team
About the Competition
- It will be conducted in multiple rounds that will be communicated at the event venue.
- The Quiz will be conducted in multiple groups of 8-10 teams in one group.
- The change of participants is not allowed after the first round of the competition.
- Developers - The participant’s age should be from 8 to 11 years of age (as of 1st June 2024, 11 years not included)
- Innovators - The participant’s age should be from 11 to 14 years of age (as of 1st June 2024, 14 years not included)
- Pioneers - The participant’s age should be from 14 to 18 years of age (as of 1st June 2024, 18 years not included)
- Teams are expected to press the buzzer in the least amount of time if they are confident about the answer.
- The wrong attempt at the answer will result in a negative marking for the team.
- If a team fails to answer a question correctly, it will be passed on to the next team. However, the weightage of the question will be reduced to 60% and then to 20% for the next team.
- If a team presses the buzzer and decides not to answer, then also it will result in a negative marking.
- If a team gives three wrong answers consecutively, it will be disqualified and cannot be considered for competition.
- Teams will be asked a series of questions
- The teams will be evaluated on the time taken to complete the series and the number of correct answers given.
- A video/audio/image will be displayed on the screen along with a question.
- Teams are expected to press the buzzer in the least amount of time if they are confident about the answer.
- The wrong attempt at the answer will result in a negative mark for the team.
- If a team fails to answer a question correctly, it will be passed on to the next team. However, the weightage of the question will be reduced to 60% and then to 20%.

- If a team gives three wrong answers consecutively, it will be disqualified and cannot be considered for competition.
- Winners of each round will be announced immediately after its completion. The scores from each round will be added together to reach a final score. Final Winners will be announced immediately after conducting the quiz.
- Winners from each group will compete against each other in the final round which will be conducted in a separate slot.
- The same set of rules will be repeated in the final round of the competition in the separate slot to decide the winners at the Zonal level.

Registration Fee:
- For Indian residents: INR 299/- (Inclusive GST) per team.
- For non-India residents: USD 20 per team.
Note
The winners of each zone will compete against each other and against the international participants at the time of GRAND FINALE at International level.
